I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. In my practice, I work to address a variety of issues and difficulties, from the stress and anxiety associated with daily life, to the oftentimes crippling depression and anger that can accompany trauma, grief, and loss. Also, as an American woman of Indian descent, I am personally and professionally familiar with many of the cultural issues facing the people of this diverse city and how those issues can impact one’s mental health.
I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. I also completed a post-graduate program at one of New York City’s leading institutes for psychoanalysis where I earned my Certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. From my previous work in several diverse settings, I have gained extensive experience in areas ranging from issues in the workplace, substance abuse and addiction, and serious mental illness.
Additionally, I believe in the importance of addressing how the body and mind are connected, and have built a network of professionals in the helping fields who can assist with physical and nutritional wellness goals.
Above all, I want to help by giving you the tools to understand yourself and your road blocks, so you can better tackle life issues with confidence.
